We are excited to let our absolutely awesome community know that our rentals with fencing is coming. That’s right.

For a variety of reason, we know this is going to make everyone’s lives a little more convenient with the added layer of privacy to your homes!

Construction begins on this final major project in just a few short weeks. Anticipating weather and temperature averages, we should see equipment on site and supplies brought in for the first half of May. That said, we will confirm closer to the date.

The decision was made to move ahead with Good Neighbour, chain-link fencing for a few really good reasons and we wanted to take a minute to address these here:

A Chain Link Fence is Resilient

For many years, chain link fences were the go-to for residential properties, and over the past few decades, many of those same fences are still around. They last a really long time!

We’ve seen many materials become trendy or popular but then their upkeep see these age poorly and fall out of style or trend as others come about.

Whether the fence is made of steel with a protective layer of zinc or vinyl, chain link fences can last decades, and withstand brutal weather and other elements, like the constant onslaught of abuse from children and pets.

Even in the worst-case scenario in Fort McMurray with absolutely frigid temperature drops with feet of heavy snow, can crush an entire section of fencing in the right circumstances.  You would be surprised at how little damage results, and how quickly the damaged section can be repaired.

A Chain Link Fence is Cost Efficient

Every chain link fence has the same basic twisted metal wiring with a sturdy metal post structure. The materials are lightweight and offer incredible efficiencies in the manufacturing process. The lumber industry is wildly out of control right now and the costs have gone up as much as 3000% in some cases.

This kind of fencing is also easier and faster to install, saving our tenants and homeowners from increased costs to condo fees, rent or rental fee structure. As well it saves all of our residents money longterm in fence maintenance.

If you do the cost analysis over these typical products, chain-link is incredibly advantageous: wood board, vinyl and wire fencing.

A Chain Link Fence is Adaptable

You likely see chain link fences in your neighbourhood in just about every community. Chain link is also the most popular style for commercial and industrial applications across Alberta.

Fences on residential properties keep dogs and children in the backyard, and wildlife out. Commercial and industrial businesses rely on chain link fences for a wide variety of purposes – securing car lots, defining property lines, keeping people away from harmful goods – and results in improved curb appeal.

A Chain Link Fence is Secure

Chain link fences provide an excellent barrier to the issues of intruders, passerby theft, vandalism and a whole list of petty crime we really want to minimize and avoid. Chain link fences, as mentioned, offer additional steps to keep wild animals out, and your pets and children in.

We are one of few pet-friendly, rental homes in Fort McMurray and we know many really need this feature to accommodate their fur family members.

A Chain Link Fence IS VERY Low Maintenance

These fences last practically forever, and you will rarely need to put any significant dollars and effort into keeping your chain link fence looking great. Most of the chain link fences installed 20 or 30 years ago are still proudly standing strong and look none-worse-for-the-wear!

This brings added value and security in knowing that it upholds your property value, minimally impacts costs and increases to maintenance and keeps the properties more affordable for everyone.

This late Spring, early Summer, you can look forward to the added convenience!
