Tenants are responsible for some level of repairs and maintenance in their HSP property.

While we at Hangingstone Point, the “landlords”, have a responsibility to ensure that our townhomes are sanitary and safe to live in. we get a lot of questions about what a tenant should make note of in terms of maintaining or falls under their average responsibilities.

We, the landlord must ensure that:

  • the living space is safe, meets minimum housing, fire, building, and health standards
  • the heating, wiring, and plumbing work
  • the structure of the building is maintained including windows, doors, walls, roofs, ceilings, floors, and stairs
  • the fridge and stove work, or any other major appliance inspected in your move in walk through are operational
  • the common areas such as shared lots, parks, greenways, parking spaces are clean and debris free for shared enjoyment

Tenants are responsible for making repairs or maintaining the rental property in the condition of which you assumed occupancy. Tenants are encouraged to read the lease for information about what they are responsible for. Have questions, absolutely reach out, we love have a chat with our wonderful community members!

The tenant is usually obligated to fulfill the following:

  • Keep the property clean
  • Maintain the grass and quality of the yard, for you pet owners, yes this includes ensuring regular pet waste removal
  • inform the landlord of any needed repairs
  • repair any damage they cause to the property
  • make small repairs (for example, changing light bulbs or unplugging drains)
  • Wear and tear that falls outside of normal expectations
  • Damage or wear caused by pets is a required tenant obligation
  • Carpets and flooring are clean, stain free, and don’t exhibit excessive wear or tear

Townhomes are an excellent way to minimize your expected responsibilities, but they do come with these easy to manage obligations.

If you request or require assistance from administration, we are happy to facilitate resources when needed, just note there can be fees associated to these and they will advise of these prior to any work completion.

Our new community is in tip top shape and still under construction. We plan to continue to add to the quality of HSP over years to come.
